Spark feels clean early and still has room to grow
Spark Stormweaver Sorceress is getting a lot of attention for a simple reason: it feels good almost straight away. Spark loves narrow layouts, doorways, and cramped arenas, which are all over early mapping. You throw in Orb of Storms, keep moving, and let the projectiles do the ugly work. It's not a build that needs some rare unique before it wakes up. Later on, players can move toward crit scaling, freeze setups, Elemental Equilibrium tricks, or even Cast on Crit Comet versions if the gear lines up. That's the appeal. You can start cheap, farm steadily, then decide how deep you want to go.



Grenades are the surprise comfort pick
The Grenade Tactician Mercenary, often called the Pinto-Win Grenade setup by players testing it, has also landed in a strong spot. It's loud, a bit clunky at first, but once the rhythm clicks it clears packs from a safe distance. Fire conversion and physical weapon scaling carry a lot of the damage, so Solo Self-Found players aren't stuck praying for one exact drop. In a patch where several flashy clear builds got clipped, grenades mostly kept their teeth. You stand back, layer explosions, and avoid a lot of the close-range nonsense that punishes less careful starters.



Melee and minions both found a better place
Bleed Gladiator Warrior is another build people are warming to, especially if they're tired of glass-cannon league starts. Bleed damage lets you hit, move, and let the enemy tick down instead of planting your feet in danger. Boneshatter and slam-style leveling also make sense here because they scale in a straightforward way while you upgrade weapons through the campaign. On the other side, Infernalist and Witch minion builds are back in the conversation. Summoners have always been good when the game gets nastier. Your minions take pressure off you, and that gives you time to dodge, reposition, and fix mistakes that would kill a greedier build.



The best starter is the one that matches your Atlas plan
Hammer of the Gods Ignite Titan may not be the loudest pick in every chat, but it's the kind of build veteran players quietly respect. Ignite doesn't care as much about attack speed, and Titan brings the sort of toughness that makes rough Atlas progression less stressful. That's really the theme of 0.5. Fast projectile builds suit dense map farming, bleed and ignite setups feel better for patient bossing, and minions remain a safe route through unknown content. If you're planning to buy PoE2 Items to smooth out resistances or weapon upgrades, it still pays to choose a starter with strong baseline mechanics rather than one that only works after heavy investment.
